While walking along Ayala Ave, I spot a Taho Vendor. After 2-sec of thinking, I excitedly said "Manong pabili po, pakihalo na rin. Durog na durog."
It's been 4 years since I last ate taho. Don't get me wrong, it's not being burgis. To safely explain it, I had a semi-traumatic experience with my last cup of taho. Imagine sipping it while it's hot...very yummy....and when you get to the bottom part... there's a hair... yup a single strand of hair that almost choked me kasi ang haba. Argggh!
Since I'm trying to justify why I deliberately bypass some tasty food, let's talk about the most common one: Chicken legs. I seldom eat this part. Another traumatic experience due to (lack of) cooking skills ni Manang Inday. She religiously prepare our baon when I was in college (sipag ni Manang). Kaso pag bumibili ng baon ang nanay ko, Manang had this (lack of) habit to prepare dish alternately. Kunwari me manok, isda, at longganisa for the entire week, she would prepare fried chicken for the first week, Longganisa on the next week, and fish on the next next week. More than that, Manang (while cooking half-awake) would always serve us chicken half-cooked also. What more do we expect?.... Chicken legs with blood. No more elaboration please. Thank you.
Lastly is of course the most favorite exotic dish of Pinoy: Balut. Ulk! =(
